Tails 2.0 Beta 1 Linux OS recently released, is a live operating system, that you can start on almost any computer from a DVD, USB stick, or SD card. It aims at preserving your privacy and anonymity, and helps you to Use the Internet anonymously and circumvent censorship; all connections to the Internet are forced to go through the Tor network; leave no trace on the computer you are using unless you ask it explicitly; use state-of-the-art cryptographic tools to encrypt your files, emails and instant messaging.

Chakra GNU/Linux OS receives Plasma 5.5.1, Applications 15.12.0 and Frameworks 5.17.0

Chakra GNU/Linux OS receives new 5.5 series of Plasma releases, more specifically Plasma 5.5.1. This quick update that followed the first 5.5 release provides some bug fixes to Plasma users, in addition to the many changes that were introduced in 5.5.0 which aimed at enhancing users’ experience: Applications 15.12.0 also become available in the repositories Spectacle, a new screenshot application, replaces Ksnapshot adding new features and using a reworked interface Artikulate, Krfb, KSystemLog and many games have now been ported to Frameworks 5 Kdenlive and Ark have been further polished, Dolphin and Kate got significant bug fixes Kontact suite received many new features, whereas Amor, KTux, and SuperKaramba have been dropped.

MakuluLinux 8.0 Cinnamon released with built-in Wine support

The MakuluLinux project has announced the release of MakuluLinux 8.0 Cinnamon edition. According to the release announcement, this is the first 64-bit edition of the OS. One notable feature in this release is Makulu now offers a Built in constructor tool, this tool lets you quickly and easily create a 100% snapshot of your LIVE system as it is, save it into a ISO that can be then re-installed on a new computer.
