Apple Swift Programming Language to go Open Source

Apple is taking the next big step when Apple’s software chief Craig Federighi announced during Monday’s keynote at the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference that its Swift programming language will become available under an open-source license by the end of the year and will support Linux OS. Swift is the programming language that uses LLVM for its compiler stack so it’s not too much of a surprise that Apple will be working to get Swift on Linux systems.
