Wine 1.9.12 released with fix to Dragon Age 2 demo sound

Wine 1.9.12 recently released, comes with a number of new features, improvements and bugfixes. A notable update to this release is Bug fix update of the Mono engine, Initial version of a taskbar in desktop mode, Fixes for right-to-left languages in Uniscribe, More Shader Model 4 support in Direct3D, Better metafile support in RichEdit and various bug fixes.

Install Wine 1.9.12 onUbuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerus), Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf), Ubuntu 15.04(Vivid Vervet), Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty Tahr)

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:wine/wine-builds

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install --install-recommends wine-staging

sudo apt-get install winehq-staging

Remove Wine:

sudo apt-get install ppa-purge

sudo ppa-purge ppa:wine/wine-builds
