Stellarium 0.14.1 – Desktop Planetarium Projector released

Stellarium 0.14.1 recently released, renders 3D photo-realistic skies in real time with OpenGL, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope. It displays stars, constellations, planets, nebulae and others things like ground, landscape, atmosphere, etc. The latest release which comes after month of development is the first correcting release of Stellarium in series 0.14.x – version 0.14.1. This version contains 13 closed bugs (ported from version 0.15.0).

  • Added designations for few stars in Scorpius

  • Fixed number of satellite orbit segments resets
  • Fixed certain outplanet moons with wrong Longitudes
  • Fixed saving settings for some View panel options
  • Fixed fails to run up on Windows when invoked from a different directory
  • Fixed wrong value of ecliptic obliquity
  • Fixed segmentation fault (core dumped) while try update stars catalog
  • Tentative fix for support 4K resolution (GUI scaling)

Install Stellarium 0.14.1 on Ubuntu Linux OS

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:stellarium/stellarium-releases

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install stellarium

Remove Stellarium from Ubuntu Linux OS

sudo apt-get remove stellarium
