Install Kodi/XBMC 16.0 with Live TV Add-On on Windows 7, Windows 10

Kodi (formerly known as XBMC) is an award-winning free and open source (GPL) software media center for playing videos, music, pictures, games, and more. Kodi runs on Linux, OS X, Windows, iOS, and Android, featuring a 10-foot user interface for use with televisions and remote controls. It allows users to play and view most videos, music, podcasts, and other digital media files from local and network storage media and the internet.

I will work you through on how to install Kodi 16 with Live TV add-on on your Windows machine. For the purpose of this tutorial, I will be installing Kodi 16.0 beta4 which is the latest as at the writing of this post.


  • Download Kodi 16.0
  • Run the download “exe” file and follow the on screen instructions

  • After installation is completed, launch Kodi
  • To install a Live TV add-on, click on System > File Manager


  • On File manager screen, use your arrow key and scroll down to “Add source” and press Enter key


  • On the Add Files source dialog box, click None and enter following URL address for Fusion which is what i am using as example: Then click Done, enter a name like (.tvaddons) and click OK

  • Next click the home button at the bottom > System and Add-ons


  • Click on “Install from zip file” > Click .tvaddons


  • Click on start-here > Click the latest addoninstaller zip plugin

  • Wait for addon to install


  • Next go back to Home > Programs > Click Addon Installer to download all addons from Fusion


  • There you now have addon installer ready to be used


  • For purpose of testing, I will click on Featured Addons. Click on desired addon to install


  • Install your chosen addon


  • Head back to Home screen > Videos > Click on the addon you have just installed
