Install Kadu 1.0 on Ubuntu 14.04

Kadu is a user-friendly, adware free, fast, stable and flexible open source Gadu-Gadu and Jabber/XMPP protocol Instant Messenger client for Linux, BSD, Mac OS X and Windows. Kadu 1.0 series is currently focused on improving history support, New windows for status changes and plugins configuration created, Tabs improvements, Preview for all icon themes, XMPP plugin was extended with basic MUC support and per-buddy roster synchronization disabling (useful for Facebook and Google+ accounts), Kadu 1.0-rc3, is the first version that includes official Windows installer.


Kadu is a cross-platform software written in Qt and runs on all major operating systems and it’s translated into English, French, German, Polish, Czech and Russian languages.

Features of Kadu includes GaduGadu, XMPP, GTalk, Facebook Messenger, Plugins and Qt. All 1.0 series releases includes following bug fixes till date:

  • fixed windows build
  • fixed: unable to change buddy name with Facebook account to its real name
  • fixed: unable to login when password contains non-ascii characters
  • fixed: set status on new account automatically if status is per-identity or per-all
  • fixed: IPv6 was broken
  • icons: Faenza theme added

Install Kadu 1.0

sudo apt-get update
