Format Junkie is a Linux graphical user interface, user-friendly application with lots of options, which can allow you to convert your audio, video and image files to all the popular formats. The program is just a frontend to avconv and to ImageMagick.
Format Junkie Features
- Audio: This tab allows you to convert between multiple different audio formats: mp3, mp2, wav, ogg, wma, flac, m4r, m4a and aac
- Video: Format Junkie supports the following video conversion formats: avi, ogv, vob, mp4, vob, flv, 3gp, mpg, mkv, wmv
- Image: Format Junkie uses the very powerful ImageMagick command line tools in order to perform conversion between the supported image formats. The program has support for the following image formats: jpg, png, ico, bmp, svg, tif, pcx, pdf, tga, pnm
- Iso Operations: The program does not limit its features to audio-video-image conversions but it also supports “converting” multiple files into an iso archive, as well as converting iso to cso and vice versa
- Avi subtitles encoding: Format Junkie is able in encoding subtitles into your AVI file
Install Format Junkie 1.08
– Format Junkie 1.08 requires libavcodec-extra-53 but Ubuntu 14.04 comes with a newer version libavcodec-extra-54 and also FFMpeg. So we need to install libavcodec-extra-53 from precise repository and add FFMpeg PPA
