GNOME Shell 3.13.2 Release Out

GNOME Shell provides core user interface functions for the GNOME 3 desktop, like switching to windows and launching applications. GNOME Shell takes advantage of the capabilities of modern graphics hardware and introduces innovative user interface concepts to provide a visually attractive and easy to use experience.

GNOME Shell 3.13.2, the second update to GNOME 3.13.x series comes with many fixes, various improvements, and translation updates over 3.13.0 and 3.13.1.

  • Make airplane mode menu insensitive in lock screen
  • Don’t always extend struts to the screen edge
  • Fix keynav for alternatives in AltSwitcher
  • Implement window menus in the shell
  • Support resource:/// URLs in GNOME_SHELL_JS envvar
  • Fix switcher popups with keybindings containing Escape

Install Gnome Shell

– The current version available on PPA for Ubuntu Trusty Tahr as at time of post was 3.12.1. I will update post as soon as 3.13.2 is available in PPA

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/testing
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell
