Remove Gnome 3.10 from Ubuntu 13.10

Following from my previous post on how to install Gnome 3.10 on Ubuntu 13.10, if you find yourself running into multiple issues yet unknown and would like to remove Gnome 3.10, then simply following the steps outlined below to accomplish this task

Step 1: Install PPA Purge

– Run the command to install PPA Purge

# sudo apt-get install ppa-purge

Step 2: Remove PPAs

– Run following commands to remove the PPAs

# sudo ppa-purge ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3-staging
# sudo ppa-purge ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3-next

Step 3: Completely remove Gnome 3

Uninstalling Gnome 3.10 will revert back to Gnome 3.8. To remove Gnome completely:

# sudo apt-get remove gnome-shell ubuntu-gnome-desktop

Step 4: Install Overlay Scrollbars (Optional)

– Run this command only if you had removed the Overlay Scrollbars package to re-install it back

# sudo apt-get install overlay-scrollbar
