Ubuntu now fits your phone

Canonical has unveiled its next big baby into the mobile OS world – I call it Smartphone as a PC (SAAP). The Unbuntu smartphone which was showcased at CES2013 looks to be quite a promising start for Canonical boss, Mark Shuttleworth. During his “virtual keynote” on 2 January 2012, Shuttleworth described this as a convergence product that brings the Ubuntu desktop experience onto Android devices.

I must say after watching some of the videos posted, I am tempted to stop upgrade on my phone to either iPhone, Samsung or Google Nexus and wait for the first release of the Ubuntu powered smartphone.

So expect possible OS updates from existing mobile phone operators in the market in the coming months 🙂 or maybe not for some 😉
