How to download and install Steam on Ubuntu Linux

Before we install Steam on Ubuntu Linux we have to open the terminal and install the following packages:

sudo apt-get install libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 libgl1-mesa-glx:i386 libc6:i386 -y

When installation is finished just follow this link and press ” Install Steam Now” button.

Next step is to open the file with the Ubuntu Package Center.

If it doesn’t prompt you ; just find the file you downloaded and double click it.

Accept Steam Terms and you are ready to play.

If everything done correctly and Steam doesn’t start you have to open a terminal and run this command :

mv ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1{,.disable} && mv ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6{,.disable}

Double click Steam icon again wait until update is finished and run the above command for the second time.

Installation  of Steam on Ubuntu Linux is ready have fun!
